About us

To pursue one's goal, with assiduous tenacity, unwavering determination, fervent and patient waiting, is the advice that wise men have always preached. Unconsciously, we followed the wise advice, but what also drove us forward was our innate desire to live immersed in the countryside.
The pleasure and predisposition for contact with Nature, is innate in all of us. In some it remains quiescent, in others it manifests itself with overwhelming ardour and diligent passion, until it becomes an indispensable need. This necessary need accompanies us right from adolescence.
A winding path, winding through countless forced detours, has brought us this far.

A pleasant and significant stage in this journey, began in 2001 and lasted twenty-two summers, was represented by 'la 'nchianata pub' in Torricella (TA).
Born out of the pleasure of spreading the harmony of the Salento countryside, we pursued the original idea of a respectful and discreet insinuation of the pub among the trees, bushes, and rocks, indulging the natural balance of the place.
Contrary to almost all opinions, amidst the various, troubled and sometimes nonsensical bureaucratic hurdles, hiccups of various kinds and various mistakes made, it can perhaps be said that the work has been accomplished.
And today we live in the healthy and pleasant comfort of the countryside.

Pure nature

Leaving home in the morning, finding yourself in the bright green of a spring field, dotted with vibrant floral colours, is an exhilarating experience. We consider ourselves lucky - and indeed we are.
Our farmer grandparents knew this well, who were, in their genuineness, an example of living, as we would say today, “eco-sustainably”. A term born to indicate a healthy balance between man and Gea, the Mother Earth. We coined it, they interpreted it, they had it ingrained in their souls.
Free of television, advertising, internet and social media, they lived in their own corner of the world without wanting anything else, contented, fulfilled by the simplicity of their existence.

Geanide is a timid attempt at a return to the past, a genuine wish for a rosy future.
We are certainly a long way from following our grandparents' model to the letter, but it is a comfort already to have it as a reference. In this regard, Seneca asserted that “it is in itself praiseworthy to try to live pursuing wholesome and just ends, for even by example alone, one can hope to propose a fairer world”.
